If you live in New Zealand... here's a list of great places and people you can contact if you're looking to add a bird into your heart(s) and home. The list includes people who breed birds and people who have rescues with birds looking for new forever homes. (For my overseas friends reading this I'd like to mention that there are far far fewer rescue centres and birds in rescues in New Zealand, so not everyone can have the chance of bringing a rescued darling home.)
Us birds are very special and great to have around, but please make sure you do lots of research before bringing one of us into your lives.

TTRNZ specialise in breeding Cockatiels but also breed Budgies, and Lovebirds.
TTRNZ operate as a rescue group and take in lost parrots and young or hurt wild birds to later be released or rehomed.
